dr_ajlouni

Dr. Raed Ajlouni Is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Dentistry, Group Leader in the Comprehensive Care Program and a member of the Graduate Faculty at Baylor College of Dentistry. Dr. Ajlouni also directs the Esthetic Dentistry and CAD-CAM courses at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is active in research, development and evaluation of dental biomaterials and techniques for bonding, esthetic dentistry and implants. Dr. Ajlouni lectures both nationally and internationally on Esthetic Dentistry.

Dr. Stan Ashworth graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1971. He practiced General Dentistry in Dallas until his retirement in 1999. He has been an Assistant Professor at BCD since 2000 and was named “Teacher of the Year” in 2003. He serves on the Admissions Committee, is the Caucus Leader of the Faculty Senate and is Chairman of the Awards Committee. He is the immediate past President of the Faculty Forum and is the Faculty Advisor for the Odontological Honor Society. At Baylor he lectures on Curing Lights and Teeth Whitening in addition to serving as a “group leader” for senior dental students. For the last four years he has taught a course in Digital Dental Photography to fourth year dental students and has lectured on this topic to various dental practitioners and groups.

Dr. Harvey Kessler is a Professor of Oral Pathology in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry. He received his DDS from University of Maryland, School of Dentistry in 1974, an M.S. in Oral Biology from George Washington University and a Certificate in Oral Pathology from the U.S. Army Institute of Dental Research in 1979. He is a Diplomate in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the American Board of Oral Medicine. He has published numerous articles and abstracts on Oral Pathology and Forensic Dentistry.

Dr. Byron "Pete" Benson is a 1975 graduate of University of Iowa, College of Dentistry and serves as Professor and Director of Radiology in the Department of Diagnostic Sciences at Baylor College of Dentistry. He received a Certificate in Dental Diagnostic Science from UT-San Antonio in 1986 and attained Diplomate status with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology in 1989. He is also a Diplomate with the American Board of Oral Medicine. He has received numerous awards and professional recognitions and has published over 100 books, journal articles and abstracts in various scientific publications. Dr. Benson has become an expert in the area of Digital Radiology over the past several years and has presented this program to numerous dental conventions and meetings throughout the country.

Dr. Ali Bolouri received a DMD from Tehran University, a DDS from Tennessee Medical Center, and a Certificate of Prosthodontics from the Emory University School of Dentistry. He is a professor in the Restorative Sciences Department at Baylor College of Dentistry and he maintains a prosthodontic and implant practice in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Bolouri has authored articles in several leading dental journals and has lectured extensively throughout the country and internationally. He is board certified Prosthodontist by the American Board of Prosthodontics.

Dr. Peter H. Buschang Is Professor of Orthodontics and Director of Orthodontic Research at Baylor College of Dentistry. He received his PhD in Physical Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1980; from 1980-1983 he was a NIDR postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Orthodontics, University of Connecticut Health Science Center; from 1983-1988 he was a FRSQ scholar in the Orthodontic section and Human Growth Research Center, University of Montreal. He regularly reviews articles for numerous journals and has served as associate editor for several journals (currently Angle Orthodontist). He is an honorary member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the Angle Society. He has published over 190 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters focusing on craniofacial growth and developmental adaptations associated with treatments and oral-motor function. He is director of Baylor’s graduate core courses entitled “Research and Scientific Communication I & II” and “Advanced Statistics”.

Debra Church, RDA is a Practice Management Consultant with over 20 years of management experience in the dental office. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and serves the dental community in various ways from practice start up to practice transition. She is the owner of DC Consulting, Inc. and currently offers customized in-office consulting and training with a particular focus on helping clients utilize their existing technology, software and personnel to the fullest extent.

Timothy Donley, DDS, MSD, is currently in the private practice of Periodontics and Implantology in Bowling Green, KY.  After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Georgetown University School of Dentistry and completing a general practice residency, he practiced general dentistry.  He then returned to Indiana University where he received his Masters Degree in Periodontics.  Dr. Donley currently serves as editor of the Journal of the Kentucky Dental Association and is an adjunct professor of Periodontics at Western Kentucky University School of Dental Hygiene.  His course is part of the ADA Seminar Series.  Dentistry Today recently listed him among the Leaders in Continuing Education.  He lectures and publishes frequently on topics of interest to clinical dentists and hygienists.

Dr. Gerald Glickman is Professor and Chair, Department of Endodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry.  He is also the Director of the Graduate Program in Endodontics.  Dr. Glickman received a B.S. degree in Microbiology from Ohio State University in 1972, an M.S. degree in Microbiology from the University of Kentucky in 1975, a DDS from Ohio State University in 1978, an M.S. degree in Endodontics from Northwestern University in 1984, an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1988 & a J.D. degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 1994.  In 1987, he achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of Endodontics.  He has presented many continuing education programs, both nationally and internationally, has published articles and abstracts, and is currently writing a textbook in Endodontics.

Dr. David Grogan is an Assistant Professor in the department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Pharmacology at Baylor College of Dentistry.  He graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1981 and received an MSD degree in Oral Surgery in 1986.  He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.  After completion of his residency training, Dr. Grogan entered private practice as an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon in Waco, Texas. He was an instrumental participant in designing the new sedation and emergency guidelines for Texas dentists, on behalf of the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.  In 2003, Dr. Grogan was voted "Teacher of the Year" by the undergraduate students.

Dr. Frank L. Higginbottom earned his B.S. degree from the University of Oklahoma. He continued his studies at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. He graduated with honors in 1971, winning the silver medal for Academic and Clinical Excellence, and is actively involved in clinical dental education and research. He lectures nationally and internationally on Esthetic Dentistry and Dental Implants. He holds faculty positions at two Texas dental schools. At Baylor College of Dentistry, he is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Departments of Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics. He has made a commitment to work with dental residents in Baylor's clinic. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  Dr. Higginbottom has participated in clinical research projects and has had numerous articles published in the dental literature.

Ms. Kayce Hollingsworth is a Clinical Assistant and Practice Management Consultant with over 20 years of clinical and practical experience as an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant. She attended Armstrong State University School of Nursing and attended dental assisting classes from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She has served as an instructor for the last several years preparing students for entry-level dental assisting positions in Dallas and surrounding areas. She now instructs experienced Dental Assistants to help prepare them for their Texas State Board certification exams.

Dr. Alex Fleury received his Masters of Science Degree in Oral Biology and Cerficate in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received his DDS Degree in 1984 from the University of São Paulo. Dr. Fleury served as Director of Predoctoral Endodontics for 6 years at both Nova Southeastern University School of Dental Medicine in Florida and Baylor College of Dentistry. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry, working with Endodontic Residents. He is the recipient of the “Edward E. Osetek Award” for best new Endodontic Educator of the year by the American Association of Endodontists. In addition, Dr. Fleury was the recipient of the “Richard F. Weiss Achievement Award presented by the Louis I. Grossman Study Club (University of Pennsylvania). He also served on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Fleury is currently in the full-time private practice of Endodontics in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Thomas W. Nabors received a DDS from the University of Tennessee in 1968 and has practiced general dentistry for 38 years in Columbus, MS, with special emphasis on Anti-Microbial Periodontal Therapy. In the past 24 years, he has treated over 5,000 patients utilizing the new Anti-Microbial protocols and has a vast amount of experience and practical information regarding this form of periodontal treatment. He is a member of the ADA, Mississippi & Tennessee Dental Associations, Academy of General Dentistry and Pierre Fauchard Honorary Society. He has a hospital appointment at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus, MS. Dr. Nabors has lectured extensively on the subject of non-surgical Periodontal disease at numerous national and international dental meetings and conventions.

Dr. N. Sue Seale is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry as well as Director of the Advanced Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor. She is director of Dental Service at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and chairman of the Department of Dentistry at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. In 1997, Dr. Seale was awarded the title of Regents Professor by the Texas A&M University System. She was the 1996-1997 president of the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the Baylor College of Dentistry Alumni Association in 1997; she served on the Board of Trustees from 1999-2002 and in multiple capacities within the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and is a past president of the Paul P. Taylor Pedodontic Association. In 2001, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry named her Pediatric Dentist of the Year and presented her with the “Merle C. Hunter Leadership Award” in 2003. A diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, she received fellowship in the American College of Dentists in 1984 and in the International College of Dentists in 2001.

Dr. James D. Ruskin is a 1981 graduate of the University of Florida College of Dentistry. After completing his M.D. degree and certificate in General Surgery and an Oral and Maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1987, he joined the faculty with a dual appointment in the medical and dental schools. He returned to the University of Florida College of Dentistry in 1992 as Director of the Residency Program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 1995, he became Chair of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Diagnostic Sciences. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Dentists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Mohsen Taleghani is a Professor and Head of the Department of General Dentistry at the Baylor College of Dentistry. He maintains a part-time private dental practice in Dallas , Texas , with special emphasis on esthetics. Dr. Taleghani has presented lecture and hands-on courses on esthetics, laminates, and composite resins at Baylor and other educational institutions throughout this country and in international venues. In addition to lecturing, his dental research has led to numerous articles and abstracts in various publications.

Dr. Charles W. Wakefield graduated from the UCLA School of Dentistry and completed a two-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He is a Diplomate of both the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. He has served as an Examiner on both the Federal Services Board of General Dentistry and the American Board of General Dentistry. Having been awarded a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, he is also a Fellow in the American and International Colleges of Dentists and holds the Surgeon General’s “A” designator. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of General Dentistry and Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Dr. John Wright is a Regents Professor, Chair of Diagnostic Sciences, and Director of Pathology at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is an oral pathologist and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the American Board of Oral Medicine. He maintains a private practice in clinical oral pathology and has contributed to over 100 publications, including textbooks on oral cancer and tumors of the head & neck, and common clinical manifestations of disease.

Dr. Thomas G. Wilson received his DDS degree from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in 1971 and his Certificate in Periodontics in 1974 from the University of Washington.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry and UTHSC-San Antonio.  He has lectured extensively on an international level, is the author of numerous journal articles and textbooks, and is a recognized expert in the field of implant surgical placement.

Dr. Ronald D. Woody is Professor & Director of Implant Dentistry and previous Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at Baylor College of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and received his dental degree in 1963 from Marquette University School of Dentistry. His postgraduate work included an Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Graduate Studies in Oral Biology at Georgetown University, Residency in Prosthodontics at Letterman Army Medical Center, Post Doctoral Fellowship in Biomaterials, NIH, & Post Doctoral Fellowship in Electron Microscopy, U.S. Army Institute of Dental Research.  He is a fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and a fellow of the American and International College of Dentists. He has published numerous journal articles, abstracts & presented over 200 seminars in the U.S. and worldwide.
